SSP offers a broad line of pipe fittings and threaded Pipe adapters that are used in many diverse applications, such as hydraulic systems, chemical plants and in a host of industrial and military equipment. As applicable, all fittings are manufactured to comply with the design criteria of Society of Automotive Engineers Standard J514. Application Guidelines Tapered Pipe Thread Fittings are recommended for applications with static operating conditions; that is, installations that do not have impulse loading from high frequency pressure variation or situations with vibration. Use of a sealant/lubricant is highly recommended. Pipe Fittings are not recommended when disassembly and re-assembly is necessary. Straight Thread O-Ring Fittings are recommended for dynamic operating conditions described above. Because they are installed tight against the mating member and seal with an o-ring, Straight Thread Fittings are resilient to these more demanding applications. Straight threads should be lubricated to minimize the chance of galling. NPSM Pipe Swivel Fittings are used with hose assemblies to eliminate the need to rotate the entire hose when it is connected. The Pipe Swivel Fitting is first installed in the mating component, and then the hose fitting is connected to the swivel nut. The swivel nut rotates so the hose does not. Metric Adapter Fittings are used to connect fractional or metric tubing to BSPP or BSPT threads and fittings to adapt NPT pipe threads to BSPP.
